MIWB

In the 130 years of its existence the institute has developed into one of the foremost nautical colleges in The Netherlands, of great renown at home and abroad.
 
Education, courses and research
The Maritime Institute provides bachelor degree education Maritime Officer and Hydrography. Besides it provides a number of maritime courses and participates in of research projects.
The Maritime Simulator Training Center (MSTC) plays a major role in education and courses.

Student accommodation
The MIWB owns a campus at a distance of 500 meters from the main building. The modern complex of sea-view apartments gives place to some 200 students. The 2 buildings are located on a beautiful spot on the Island.

Nautical Quarter
Next to the MIWB, there is the Nautical Quarter containing the restaurant where students, teachers and guests can take there meals.

Training vessel
Since 2003 the MIWB has been the owner of the training motor vessel “Octans”. The vessel replaced the former training motor vessel “Prinses Margriet”.
At least one day a week there are made training-trips in favour of as well the Maritime Officers and Hydrographers.
